1. The applicant must be: under 19 years of age at the date of audition, willing to improve his/her skills by undertaking tuition with the best tutor available as selected in consultation with the auditioning panel, willing to participate on a regular basis in musical rehearsal and performance associated with their musical tuition
The auditioning panel will indicate at the time of awarding the scholarship which type of music rehearsal it considers will make the most valuable contribution to the applicant’s overall musical development. It is expected that the scholarship winners will give first priority to that musical rehearsal or performance group designated by the auditioning panel.
2. The proceeds of the scholarship will be paid to the tutor and not to the successful applicant.
3. The successful applicant will abide by the decision of the auditioning panel.
4. The panel will judge the applicant on musical potential and financial need for assistance and will also take into consideration the stage of tuition and age of the applicant.
5. The successful applicant will be required to maintain the conditions of the scholarship for a period of one year.
6. Scholarship funds apply to the current year only.
7. The successful applicant will not be eligible to apply for future scholarships if these conditions are not met.
8. The scholarship will not commence until the scholarship agreement is signed.
9. All vocal or instrumental candidates applying for individual studies scholarships only will be required to enrol in a Musicianship Class at the Orange Regional Conservatorium OR will be studying Musicianship in either the AMEB or Trinity code with a recognised teacher. The entry form requires details of the Musicianship class in which candidates are enrolled.
