performance opportunities

STUDIO CONCERTS Studio concerts are held twice a year – at the end of Term 2 and at the end of Term 4.

Organised by each ORC specialist tutor, studio concerts provide an opportunity to perform in front of an audience, with all students of that particular tutor being required to attend. When students are not playing, they form the audience and support those who are playing. Parents and friends are welcome to attend, and there is no cost attached.

Tutors and students appreciate the support of parents’ and fellow students’ attendance at studio concerts.

AMEB EXAMINATIONS AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board) provides an examination process and the ORC provides the teaching, the examination venue, and fee collection for these examinations.

Requirements/procedure
Tutors will provide a completed AMEB Requirements Form.
There is a separate registration fee for both practical (vocal and instrumental) and written (musicianship) examinations.
Pay your examination fee at the ORC Office by the specified time. Tutors do not accept AMEB examination fees.

ACCOMPANIMENT – ORC keyboard department offers accompaniment for performers of all standard. Please contact Donna RIles for more information.

PERFORMANCE PRACTICE

Students are encouraged to attend performance practice at least once every five-week session. These are held during term time at the ORC Auditorium in an informal and supportive environment, and expressly for our students to learn how to perform and get a different perspective on their playing. Students are not expected to have perfected their performances for these classes.

There is no charge to ORC principal study students for these classes.

Students are reminded to bring the piano accompaniment where required.

WEDNESDAY CLASS: All grades– 6.00pm to 7.30 pm
