Support ORC

There is very little doubt that the Orange Regional Conservatorium has become more visible and active in the community, and indeed the region. ORC continues to make a difference to the quality of 'musical' life to the residents of the region.

Although ORC is partly funded by governments and various public funding bodies (click here for more info..), it could not survive and grow without the generous donations and support of its benefactors.

There are many ways in which you can become involved:

AND ... Donations above $2 a fully tax deductable!

You are now a FRIEND of the ORC. If you pay fees to the ORC (i.e. you are a student or the parent/guardian of a student or a Member of the ORC) you are a FRIEND. We would like your participation.

Past President David Manning cuts the cake with the original steering committee members:
Jenny Manning, Leonie Diment, Patricia Martin, Gina Sartore
& Ann Hosking

Function of FRIENDS
As FRIENDS we hope that you will participate in the ORC community. FRIENDS can help with:

  • front of house at concerts
  • serving in the canteen on Saturdays and at concerts
  • poster distribution in the Orange community
  • fund raising
  • truck loading and unloading
  • stage hand

Or let us know what you’d like to do—you may have a special skill that you are willing to share with the ORC community to help support our expert tutors to provide the wonderful music education available to us here in Orange.

Let’s build up the sense of community amongst us. Let us know how you can help to make the musical activities of our students run smoothly. You can contact us at friends@orangecon.org.au.

What’s in it for me and how can I become a FRIEND?
Remember, if you pay fees to the ORC you are already a FRIEND’. There is no extra cost to be a FRIEND and you can get the warm inner glow that comes from participation and helping things run smoothly. You may however, choose to extend your FRIENDSHIP by becoming a Member of ORC and gaining the extra benefits that membership brings. Some of these benefits may include taking part in activities like pre-concert talks and post-concert functions not available to the general public.

We look forward to your friendship and involvement

Sponsor a CHAIR

With the combination of growing bodies and the demands of musical presentation, sitting down for long stretches at a time can he a real pain in the neck - back - shoulders etc. when you are a musician. After many years this can lead to poor posture, resulting in long term health problems.

Musicians and teachers are becoming more and more aware of the of the importance of good posture and therefore sound chairs (another pun?) are an absolute must!

"TECHNO" chairs (made in Australia) are becoming the industry standard for preforming groups and institutions all over the world. Many orchestras andtouring ensembles will now NEVER perform without them. Concern for the long term health of our students has convinced us that this is the way we need to go.

The ORC is aiming to have between 60 - 70 chairs to serve its ensemble and individual tuition requirements and YOU have the opportunity to assist in achieving this goal.

$450 will buy a chair - with your name proudly displayed on the back!

*Please make cheques payable to Orange Regional Conservatorium & post to Po Box 859, Orange NSW 2800

Scholarship Program

The ORC offers approximately $23,000 worth of scholarships and fee relief per annum.

Scholarships are granted via annual audition; with criteria including aptitude, technical ability, commitment and financial need.

You can become involved by sponsoring a particular student's tuition fees, or a scholarship to be awarded to students at ORC's discretion.

Purchase an Instrument

The ORC has a bank of instruments for hire, all of which are hired out at rate that is well below commercial level. There is a high demand for these instruments and we are always in need of more.

The ORC recognises a responsibility to provide such a service to the community and will welcomes any donations for the specific purpose of instrument. purchase

Donations are Tax Deductable.

Enquiries regarding instrument prices/relevant donation amounts etc. should be directed to the Director at director@orangecon.org.au
