ORC Teaching Philosophy - The art & practice of encouragement, support and focused guidance; empowering the studnt to extend him or herself to higher levels of technical & musical achievement

These are the mainstay of a music education through ORC, and comprise vocal and instrumental individual lessons.Anyone wishing to enroll for lessons at ORC can make an appointment to see the Director, by calling the office on (02) 5310 2409.

Wednesday & Thursday Performance Practice

Wednesday & Thursday performance class offer a valuable setting for student musicians to 'practice performing' in ORC's Auditorium, 73A Hill st. It is a very different & often daunting experience playing or singing in a large hall in front of an audience. Weekly practice of this ensures a more confident performance 'on the night'.

 

 

Wednesday & Thursday performance class is free of charge for people enrolled in individual lessons at ORC. Students who aren't are welcome to enroll in the class for a small fee.

WEDNESDAY CLASS: 6 - 7:30 pm during school terms

  • Open to students of technical standard UP TO AND INCLUDING GRADE 3 (or equivalent)
  • 18 performers ONLY per session. Students will be asked to play in age order - youngest first

THURSDAY CLASS: 6 - 7:30 pm during school terms

  • Open to students of technical standard of GRADE 4 AND ABOVE
  • 12 performers ONLY per session - students will play in the order in which names appear on the booking sheet

ONE BOOKING SHEET ONLY for each Class will be available for bookings

  • Booking sheet situated on the notice-board in the southern corridor at Hill street
  • Students' details must be on the booking sheet prior to commencement of the session
  • Teachers are most welcome to drop in at any time, and will be invited to give constructive criticism
  • Details of non-ORC instrumental and vocal students who are enrolled (as regulars) in Thursday Class will be printed on the Booking Sheet by admin.
